Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data printerreference.info collects, why, how it is used, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website only.
The data controller for the purposes of this policy is Deepanshu, mumbai, mumbai, MH, India. Questions and requests: editorial@printerreference.info.
Our approach in brief
- We do not require registration and we operate no user accounts.
- We do not ask readers for names, addresses, telephone numbers, device serial numbers, or payment details.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising outside the third-party advertising arrangements described below.
- The personal data we do handle arrives in two ways: automatically, when your browser requests a page, and voluntarily, when you email us.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records technical information each time a page is requested. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of each request. This information is used to deliver the site, maintain security, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which articles are read and how readers reach them. Analytics tools set cookies or use similar technologies to distinguish one visit from another and may process your IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and browser characteristics, and on-site behaviour.
We use analytics for editorial and operational purposes only: to see which explanations are being read, which are not, and where readers give up. We do not use analytics data to build marketing profiles, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers from it.
Advertising
This site carries third-party display advertising served by Google AdSense and, potentially, by other advertising vendors and exchanges it works with.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve advertisements based on your prior visits to this site or other sites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve advertisements to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at www.google.com/settings/ads. You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other participating vendors at www.aboutads.info/choices and www.youronlinechoices.eu.
- Third-party advertising vendors set and read their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not control those cookies, cannot access the data they collect, and are not responsible for those vendors' practices.
Where required by law, advertising and analytics cookies are set only after you have given consent through our cookie notice, and you may withdraw that consent at any time using the same notice.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to load, to remain secure, and to remember your cookie preferences. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — used to produce aggregate readership statistics, as described above.
- Advertising cookies — set by third-party advertising vendors to select and measure advertisements, as described above.
Every current browser allows cookies to be blocked or deleted through its settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from reading anything on this site.
Information you give us voluntarily
If you email editorial@printerreference.info, we receive your email address, whatever you choose to write, and any attachment you send. We use that information solely to consider and respond to your message and to keep a record of correspondence where we are legally required to. Please do not send us account credentials, payment details, device serial numbers, or other sensitive information — we have no use for them and no wish to hold them.
Legal bases for processing
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases: legitimate interests, for delivering and securing the site and for responding to correspondence you initiate; consent, for analytics and advertising cookies where consent is required; and legal obligation, where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who operate this site on our behalf — hosting, content delivery, security, email, and the analytics and advertising vendors named above — each processing data under their own terms and applicable law.
- Legal and regulatory authorities, where we are required by law to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where such transfers are subject to data-protection law, they are made under an approved transfer mechanism, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
Retention
Server logs are retained for no longer than is necessary for security and diagnostic purposes. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured with our analytics provider. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the matter it concerns and any related legal obligation, and is then deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you; to have it corrected or deleted; to restrict or object to its processing; to receive it in a portable form; and to withdraw consent you have previously given. Residents of California and other US states with comparable laws may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion or correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — noting that we do not sell personal information.
To exercise any right, write to editorial@printerreference.info. We will respond within the period required by the applicable law. We may need to ask you for information to verify your identity before acting on a request. Exercising these rights costs nothing and will not affect your access to this site. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to your national data protection authority.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers and standards bodies have not settled on a uniform response to "Do Not Track" signals. Where we are legally required to honour an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we do so.
Children
This site is intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that threshold). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, write to editorial@printerreference.info and we will delete it.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
External links
Pages on this site may reference other organisations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party website, and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted prominently on this page.
